I used to be able to remember everything. I could repeat a six month old conversation back verbatim. Just ask my husband. Something happened when I started having kids. At first I thought it was just the Pregnancy Stupids. It turns out that’s not the case.
Wait what were we talking about?
I have to write everything down. For that I have my planners. Yep that’s planners with an S. As in an entire system of journals, papers, stickies, binders, and notebooks where I can organize it all.
Lately, I’m riding the wave of bullet journals. Oh, you didn’t know that there are trends in planning? Let me virtual school you. I have two bullet journals. One I use for daily list planning. This one might be my most important notebook. It keeps me on track all day. Plus I love it because it’s cute and I found it under a pile of school supplies at Publix. Diamond in the rough.
Make bullet journal video about making bullet journals after writing it down in my bullet journal. Check.
Bullet Journaling is a system of simple list making for people who have lists everywhere all over the place. *waves* Because how many times have you just plumb forgotten what you did with your list. *throws hands in the air in wtf gesture*
But but but wait it gets worse. There’s the standard Bullet Journaling and then there’s adorably cute bullet journaling with sweet black and white drawings all over them. I’ve always been a doodler, so this is an amazing trend to witness. I’ve watched nearly seventeen million hours of planner videos on YouTube.
It’s a sickness. I’m up to five notebooks now. Plus my six printables that I save in a binder with five tabs. And a wall calendar. Oh, and my google calendar.
Then I see something like this post, and I think I’m going to be okay.
Psych. Now I have another 35 notebooks. Thanks a lot, Pinterest.
November is when I hunt for my perfect planner. The one ultimate notebook. The end-all-be-all of journals.
December is when I really start geeking out. I’ll talk about planners. Buy planners. Browse planners at Staples for hours. I cannot wait to start a new one. Or two. Or ten. The most wonderful time of the year.
Then there’s May. Sad sad May. The time I realize that there is no perfect system, and so I start making my own from scratch… again. Here’s a peek at my current binder system with Six Free Printable Planning Pages for you to enjoy. Embrace your inner nerd and letter your Planner Freak flag fly!
If you’ve made it this far, you must know where I’m coming from. There’s something relaxing and motivating about organizing and reorganizing your routine. It’s a weird hobby, but people used to have pet rocks. Not as weird as that.
